QUOTES
- "It was two of the best teams in the country going head-to-head. It was as even of a series that you could have asked for this weekend. We played really well on Thursday night, and they turned around and played well Friday night. Both teams were toe-to-toe through six innings today. They had a dagger in the seventh with two outs and two strikes, but we had an answer in the bottom of the seventh. I told our team before the game today, let's all commit to each other to be the toughest version of ourselves and we were." – Head Coach Chris Pollard on his overall thoughts on the series.
- "I talked to our team after the game that he has provided unbelievable leadership for us all year. He has been locked in on every pitch and it was really cool and really special for me to see him step into that moment and have that big at bat." – On the decision to pinch hit Chad Knight who drove in the game winning runs.
- "I am so proud of it. I am almost emotional about it. It is something we have been trying to do for a long time. To see this place like this in a rubber match is something that we kind of dreamed about since we got here." – On the atmosphere at Jack Coombs Field on Saturday afternoon.
UP NEXT
- Duke hits the road for the first time during the midweek slate, traveling to Lynchburg, Va., for the final meeting against the Liberty Flames. First pitch is scheduled for 4 p.m. from Liberty Baseball Stadium.
