DURHAM — Nine members of the Duke wrestling program have been honored with selections to the All-ACC Academic Team, as announced by the league office on Monday.
Â
The nine Duke student-athletes selected led all ACC squads under head coach
Glen Lanham.Â
Â
Four Blue Devil wrestlers earned their second selection to the All-ACC Academic Team in graduate
Jarred Papcsy, seniors
Logan Agin and
Conor Becker and junior
Logan Ferrero. Agin closed his senior campaign tied for ninth all-time for the fastest fall at just 22 seconds. Ferrero finished the 2023-24 season placing fourth at the ACC Championship in March.
Â
The remaining five Duke student-athletes earned recognition for the first time -- senior
Jack Wimmer, redshirt freshmen
Connor Barket and
Gaetano Console and freshmen
Raymond Adams and
Kwasi Bonsu. Barket finished the 2023-24 season posting a team-leading 16 victories.
Â
Academic requirements for selection to the All-ACC Academic Team are a 3.0 grade point average for the previous semester and a 3.0 cumulative average during one's academic career. In addition, student-athletes must compete in at least 50 percent of their team's matches.
Â
Notably, each of the league's six programs saw at least one of its members recognized for academic excellence.
The ACC Honor Roll, which recognizes all conference student-athletes with a grade point average of 3.0 for the current academic year, will be released in July.
