PHILADELPHIA - Eighth-ranked Loyola outscored Duke, 5-0, in the fourth quarter as the Blue Devils fell, 16-11, in NCAA Women's Lacrosse Tournament first round action Friday evening at Franklin Field.
Three different Greyhounds tallied hat tricks and were led by Regan Kielmeyer with a career-high five goals.
Katie Desimone was once again stellar for the Blue Devils and notched her 34th-career hat trick with five goals and an assist to lead all scorers. She cements herself as one of the Duke greats with 196 career goals and 273 career points as Duke's second all-time leading goal scorer. Her points rank her fourth in Duke lore.
Kennedy Everson got the start in goal and collected 11 saves to tie her career high, her fourth 10-plus save game this season.
Duke's defense limited Chase Boyle to two goals. She is second nationally with 4.21 goals per game while Sydni Black ranks tied for 12th with 3.84 and only had one this evening.
