DURHAM – Duke fencing head coach
Omar Elgeziry announced the 2024-25 competition schedule Friday.
In addition to three fall competition dates, one at home, the winter slate features five regular season meets, including the annual February home meet.
"With a busy schedule of meets ahead this season, we're ready to embrace every challenge and showcase our hard work," Elgeziry said. "I'm thrilled to see our team growing stronger and more determined. I look forward to an exciting season. Go Duke!"
The Duke fencing team will kick off the 2024-25 season Oct. 26-27 at the Temple Open before hosting North Carolina on Nov. 2. The Blue Devils end the fall by returning to Philadelphia for the Elite Invitational.
To begin 2025, Duke will compete Jan. 18-19 at the Philadelphia Invitational before dueling at Harvard on Feb. 1. The Blue Devils stay in Cambridge Feb. 2 for the Eric Sollee Invitational.
Duke hosts its annual home meet, renamed to the Beguinet Classic, Feb. 8 in Card Gymnasium. The Blue Devils end the regular season the following day with the Miller Invitational in Chapel Hill, N.C. on Feb. 9.
Elgeziry's team will then turn its attention to the postseason, beginning with the ACC Championships Feb. 22-23, also in Chapel Hill.
Next on the slate for Duke's qualifiers will be the NCAA Regional March 8. The campaign will conclude at the NCAA Fencing Championship March 20-23, hosted by Penn State.
