DURHAM, N.C. – Along with the 12 returning letterwinners from last season, the Duke softball program also welcomed 10 newcomers in six freshman and four transfers. During the fall, GoDuke.com will be spotlighting each of the 10 newcomers ahead of the 2026 campaign.
The next Blue Devil spotlight is transfer junior pitcher
Larissa Jacquez. Jacquez joins the program after two seasons at University of the Incarnate Word. A native of Eagle Pass, Texas, Jacquez is coming off a stellar sophomore season where she led the UIW pitching staff in strikeouts (151), innings pitched (148.2), complete games (12) and shutouts (6). She posted a 1.65 ERA, which led the Southland Conference (SLC) and ranked 12th nationally. Jacquez had a standout performance during the series finale against East Texas A&M, fanning a career-high 14 batters in seven innings to lead the Cardinals to a 7-0 victory and secure the series sweep. The sophomore capped off the year with all-conference honors after being named to the second team for the first time in her career.
