DURHAM, N.C. – The No. 11 Blue Devils were up 14-13 with 44 seconds remaining in Koskinen Stadium when No. 19 Brown carried the ball to Duke's defensive end of the field to earn control of the final possession of the contest. Kerry Nease snatched the ground ball to solidify the 14-13 win.
The Blue Devils remain undefeated at home and improved to 10-3 this season while Brown falls to 7-3.

Bella Goodwin once again led Duke's offense with her career-high six goals and graduate student
Callie Hem notched four goals. Senior
Carly Bernstein slotted in two goals while sophomore

Defensively, the Blue Devils forced seven caused turnovers, led by freshman
Mabel Overbeck with two. Redshirt junior
Kennedy Everson anchored the cage with six saves.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Blue Devils and Bears were tied at 2-2 after the first 15 minutes of play.
- Hem scored the first goal 2:23 seconds into the game but Brown took the 2-1 lead as it found the back of the cage at the 13:08 mark and 4:27 mark. Duke got the last goal of the quarter at 2:25 with Hem's second goal of the day to knot the score at 2-2.
- Brown opened the second quarter with a three-goal run, stretching from 12:56 to 7:51, to take the 5-2 lead.
- Goodwin decreased Brown's lead to 5-3 by burying her free-position shot with 4:46 remaining in the half.
- Biancardi scored her free-position shot to put Duke within one goal, 5-4, going into halftime.
- Duke opened the third quarter with a six-goal surge to take a 10-5 lead. The six-goal run stretched from 12:43 to 5:59.
- Goodwin converted her free-position shot at 12:43, and less than a minute later, redshirt freshman Eva Pronti fed Hem to give Duke a 6-5 advantage. Duke's run continued with another free-position goal from Goodwin at the 9:55 mark. Shearer assisted Hem in stretching Duke's lead to 8-5. Pronti then found Bernstein who scored at the 8:53 mark. Woodworth rounded out the scoring run with a man-up goal at 5:59.
- Brown responded with a pair of goals to cut into the Blue Devils' lead, 10-7.
- Goodwin scored another free-position goal, pushing Duke ahead,11-7, but Brown slotted in the final two goals of the third quarter.
- The Blue Devils went into the fourth period up 11-9.
- Goodwin opened the final period by finding the back of the cage twice, extending the Blue Devils' lead to 13-9. Bernstein scored Duke's final goal with less than six minutes remaining, increasing the Blue Devils' edge to 14-9.
- Brown surged in the final moments of the game with four goals, stretching from 5:13 remaining to 2:29, but Duke's defense held the Bears' scoreless the rest of the game to secure the win, 14-13.
