DURHAM, N.C. – The Duke football team had 10 players selected for membership in the National Football Foundation (NFF) Hampshire Honor Society, the organization announced Wednesday. Representing the Blue Devils were Cameron Bergeron, Kendy Charles, Nicky Dalmolin, Diassa Diakite, Bruno Fina, Alex Howard, Jordan Moore, Eli Pancol, Joshua Pickett and Justin Pickett.
Duke leads the ACC in Hampshire Honor Society selections since 2012 with 81.Â
The NFF Hampshire Honor Society, which is celebrating its 19th year, is composed of college football players from all divisions who each maintained a cumulative 3.2 GPA or better, was a starter or regular contributor and either a senior, graduating player or graduate transfer. An all-time high 2,532 players from 339 schools qualified for membership after the 2024 season.

"These results reaffirm that academics are still top of mind for today's student-athletes. Bergeron was a two-time Academic All-ACC selection and the recipient of the team's K.D. Kennedy Iron Devil Award in 2024. The award is given to team members who demonstrate the most heart, durability and toughness throughout the year. The Albany, Ga., product earned four letters (2021-22-23-24) and played in 46 games with 11 starts. He compiled 100 tackles, 9.5 tackles for loss, 4.5 sacks, one interception, three caused fumbles, two fumble recoveries, two pass breakups and seven quarterback pressures. He booked four QB pressures against North Carolina in 2024 to tie the Duke single-game record and help bring the Victory Bell back to Durham. He was also tabbed ACC Linebacker of the Week on December 2, 2024, following nine tackles, 1.0 sack and a caused fumble in Duke's season-ending victory at Wake Forest.
Charles lettered one season (2024) at Duke after earning four (2020-21-22-23) at Liberty. The Second Team All-ACC choice in 2024 was also a College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District and Academic All-ACC selection last fall. In 50 career games (34 starts) at Liberty and Duke, he booked 158 tackles, 29.5 tackles for loss, 15.5 sacks, one caused fumble, two fumble recoveries, two pass breakups and seven quarterback pressures. He helped Duke rank among the NCAA leaders in 2024 in tackles for loss per game (second/8.9), fumbles recovered (second/14), sacks per game (fourth/3.3), turnovers gained (seventh/27) and turnover margin (24th/+0.62). Charles, from Orange Park, Fla., graduated from Liberty in December 2023 with a degree in sports management.Â
Dalmolin lettered five seasons (2020-21-22-23-24) with the Blue Devils, appearing in 46 career games with 26 starts. A product of Cumming, Ga., he caught 65 passes for 646 yards (9.93) and seven touchdowns. He ended his career tied for fifth in Duke history in touchdown receptions by a tight end. Dalmolin turned in a career performance at Middle Tennessee in 2024 with four receptions for 100 yards and two touchdowns. The Academic All-ACC selection in 2022 and 2023 graduated from Duke in May 2024 with a degree in psychology and a minor in cinematic arts.
Diakite, a Northampton, Pa., native, played in nine games as a Blue Devil after transferring from Robert Morris University and Harvard University. Diakite booked 53 tackles, one interception and five pass breakups in 36 career contests. He graduated from Harvard in May 2023 with a degree in government and data science.Â
Fina excelled as Duke's starting left tackle and in the classroom in 2024, earning Academic All-ACC, CSC Academic All-District and CSC Second Team Academic All-America accolades. Fina, from Tucson, Ariz., arrived at Duke in the summer of 2024 after being a four-year member (2020-21-22-23) and two-year letterwinner (2022-23) of the football program at UCLA. He started 12 games for the Blue Devils and was part of an offensive line that ranked second in the ACC, and tied for ninth nationally, in fewest sacks allowed per game (0.92). Fina graduated from UCLA in June 2024 with a degree in business economics.Â
Howard, from Cincinnati, Ohio, lettered one season (2024) at Duke after being a four-year letterwinner (2020-21-22-23) at Youngstown State. He earned honorable mention All-America accolades from College Football Network in 2024 in addition to an honorable mention All-ACC nod. He was also an Academic All-ACC selection in 2024. In 53 career games (27 starts), he registered 231 tackles, 30.0 tackles for loss, 11.5 sacks, one interception, one caused fumble, three fumble recoveries, five pass breakups and nine quarterback pressures. He registered two QB pressures in the TaxSlayer Gator Bowl versus Ole Miss to tie the Duke single-game bowl record. Howard graduated from Youngstown State in May 2023 with a degree in criminal justice and a certificate in homeland security.Â
Moore, a three-year starter at wide receiver, was a team captain in 2024, when he also received the Carmen Falcone Award as Duke's Most Valuable Player. He was a two-time All-ACC pick (2023-24) and three-time Academic All-ACC selection (2022-23-24). A native of Sykesville, Md., Moore registered 177 receptions for 2,352 yards (13.29) with 21 touchdowns in 49 career games (35 starts). He ended his career ranking tied for fifth in Duke history in career touchdown receptions, seventh in receptions and 10th in receiving yards. He is one of just four Blue Devils to compile three seasons with five or more receiving touchdowns. Moore's final regular-season reception was one to remember as he hauled in a 39-yard TD pass as time expired in Winston-Salem to give Duke a 23-17 triumph for its ninth victory. With the grab, he became the first Blue Devil in program history to catch a TD pass for a win on the final snap of regulation and one of just six Blue Devils to have a game-winning TD reception during the final minute of play. Moore graduated from Duke in May 2024 with a degree in psychology and a certificate in markets and management.Â
Pancol lettered five seasons (2019-20-21-22, 24) at Duke and was a six-year member (2019-20-21-22-23-24) of the Blue Devil program. A Third Team All-ACC pick in 2024, Pancol also received the ACC's Brian Piccolo Award in 2024 as the league's comeback player of the year. In addition, he was a two-time All-ACC selection (2022, 2024). In 57 career games (27 starts), the Pendleton, Ind., product compiled 130 receptions for 1,710 yards (13.15) with 14 touchdowns. He capped his Duke career ranking tied for eighth in TD receptions of 20+ yards (10), 12th in total TD receptions, 15th in receiving yards and 17th in receptions. Following his Senior Night versus Virginia Tech, he was named the ACC Wide Receiver of the Week for his five-catch, 188-yard performance. He ended the game with 86-yard, 77-yard and seven-yard TD catches. The 86-yard grab marked the third-longest play in program history while the three TD catches tied for the third most in a game in Duke history. He graduated from Duke in May 2023 with a visual and media studies degree and added a master's degree in management studies from Duke's Fuqua School of Business in May 2024.
Joshua Pickett, a native of Demorest, Ga., lettered four seasons (2021-22-23-24) at Duke. He was a three-time Academic All-ACC selection (2022-23-24) and two-time CSC Academic All-District honoree (2022-23). In 50 career games (23 starts), he tallied 101 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss, 1.0 sack, two interceptions, one caused fumble and 16 pass breakups. He posted three or more tackles on 17 occasions, including a career-best nine against Northwestern in 2022. He secured one interception in a contest with Lafayette in 2023 and another versus Virginia Tech in 2024.
Justin Pickett, a team captain in 2024, is a three-time Academic All-ACC selection (2022-23-24). In 35 career games, the Carmel, Ind., product has made 21 starts. He was the recipient of the team's 2024 Duke Tough Award, presented annually to the football student-athlete who personifies the physical and mental toughness required to be a Blue Devil. He was a key member of a unit that allowed 72.0 tackles for loss, with just 234 yards lost, the fourth-lowest total in the ACC in 2024. In addition, he provided pass protection for Maalik Murphy to throw for a Duke single-season record 26 touchdowns last fall.
