 QUOTESÂ
"I told Coach Guerra before the game and just a minute ago in the handshake line that he is doing a really good job with their club. The improvement they have made from last year to this year, considering all the injuries they have had, they have done a great job. I thought today was more of a product of us playing really well, than Radford not. I thought we were really good in all three phases today. I have been here long enough to know the post-exam break games are tough. I thought we were really locked in from the beginning, and the job that Andrew Healy had and how competitive he was allowed us to get on our toes. Our offense was really good today. We looked rested and fresh, which is what you are looking for after the week off." – Head coach Chris Pollard on his overall thoughts on today's doubleheader.
"Obviously, with the two shortened ballgames, we would have liked to go deeper into the pen. We will hopefully be able to script some opportunities to do that on Tuesday, but we were able to get some depth into the ballgame on the offensive side of things. We really liked what we saw when the guys got into the ballgame. I thought Andrew Bell had some great at-bats off the bench. I thought Zach Jackson had a great at-bat there off the bench, as well as Jay Slater. It is awesome for those guys to get in there and get some valuable experience down the stretch." – On the ability to use a variety of guys this late in the season, as they prepare for postseason action.
"It was really important for Healy. He was able to go out there and get all three pitches working. We were able to stretch him out. If you keep having those short starts, you start losing capacity. We made a decision in the midweek to not pitch Reid Easterly in the scrimmage, so we had to get him an inning today. We didn't want him to go 10 days without throwing live, but we got some other guys we need to get some work on Tuesday." – On the ability for Healy to be efficient and stretch out after shortened starts the past few outings.Â
