Corey Muscara announced his full coaching staff on Friday afternoon, joining him in Durham for the start of the 2026 season.

Scott Loiseau – Associate Head Coach
Loiseau joins the Blue Devils staff following a brief stint with the Dayton Flyers in 2025, after spending one season with Penn State, helping guide the Nittany Lions to a winning record for the first time since 2016. For 14 years, Loiseau served as the head coach at NCAA Division II Southern New Hampshire, compiling a 480-209-2 (.696) record and leading the Penmen to 11 consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances. Those 11 appearances included eight NCAA Regional finals and five trips to the NCAA Division II College World Series. SNHU won 25 or more games in its final 11 seasons at the helm, including seven 40-plus win seasons and a 50-win mark in 2016. In addition to six Northeast-10 Coach of the Year awards, Loiseau was named NCBWA East Region Coach of the Year four times, ABCA East Region Coach of the Year five times, and NEIBA East Region Coach of the Year six times.

Matt Wessinger – Hitting Coach
Wessinger arrives in Durham after spending the previous three seasons with Wake Forest, where he helped guide the Demon Deacons to five new program records in regular season wins, ACC wins, ACC series wins, postseason wins, and overall wins. The Deacs ended the season with a 54-12 record. Under the direction of Wessinger, Wake posted a program high in fielding percentage (.979) and found success on the base paths, setting a new program record in runs scored (591). Before he arrived in Winston-Salem, Wessinger was instrumental in Hofstra's magical 2022 season as the Pride earned the program's first-ever berth in the NCAA Baseball Tournament, compiling 30 wins and winning the team's first CAA championship. A graduate from St. John's in 2013, Wessinger was selected by the Colorado Rockies in the fifth round of the 2012 MLB Draft.

Will Craig – Recruiting Coordinator
A former first-round draft pick by the Pittsburgh Pirates (22nd overall) in the 2016 MLB Draft, Craig became the Deacons' first first-round pick since 2008 and highest since 2006. Craig became the first Demon Deacon ever to be a consensus first-team All-American by all six outlets, ranking in the program's top 10 in home runs (10th), walks (10th), sitting outside the top 10 in average (.347), doubles (42), and RBI (160). The Johnson City, Tennessee, native was a Louisville Slugger Freshman All-American (2014), Dick Howser Trophy Semifinalist (2015), ACC Player of the Year (2015), Dick Howser Trophy Finalist (2016), and Golden Spikes Award Semifinalist (2016).

Mickey Bassett – Director of Baseball Operations
Bassett will oversee all day-to-day operations of the Duke baseball program, as well as coordinating all team travel and meals. Since 2021, Bassett has handled all operational needs for the Wake Forest baseball program. Before Wake, Bassett was a member of the St. John's baseball program in a variety of roles, including a student manager during the 2017 and 2018 seasons under head coach Ed Blankmeyer, the father of former Duke assistant coachÂ
Ty Blankmeyer. During that stretch as a student manager, Bassett assisted the Red Storm with their video operations as the team made back-to-back NCAA Tournament appearances, as well as claimed the 2018 Big East title. Bassett became the Director of Player Development in 2019, handling all scouting reports, video, and planning of road trips before moving into the role of Director of Baseball Operations during the 2020 and 21 seasons.Â

Sean Fisher – Director of Player Development
Fisher joins the Duke baseball staff as the Director of Player Development, entering the 2026 season, after spending time at Wake Forest with Coach Muscara as the Demon Deacons' Pitching Lab Coordinator. A former walk-on under Coach Muscara, Fisher developed into the Friday night starter for Maryland. In his role, Fisher will handle all aspects of writing programs and developing incoming players to their highest level.

Sean Coveny – Director of Analytics
Coveny will assume the role of Director of Analytics for the Blue Devils this season, after spending the 2025 season as Wake Forest's Assistant Director of Analytics. Prior to his arrival at Wake Forest, Coveny worked alongside the Binghampton baseball program, handling trackman and data interpretation for all contests, as well as generating scouting reports, video analysis, and data organization.
