Braelyn Baker and
Joseph Taylor swept Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Outdoor Track & Field Freshmen of the Year honors and Director of Track & Field and Cross Country
Shawn Wilbourn was named Men's ACC Outdoor Track & Field Coach of the Year, as announced by the conference Monday afternoon.

With their selections, Baker marks the Blue Devils' second ACC Women's Outdoor Freshman of the Year and first since 2017 (
Katelyn Gochenour) while Taylor nabs the conference's top outdoor freshman honor for Duke on the men's side all-time. Wilbourn reels in his fourth overall ACC Outdoor Coach of the Year honor after earning the distinction on the women's side in 2021, 2023 and 2024.

Baker enjoyed a successful outdoor campaign that culminated with three medals at the ACC Outdoor Championships (one silver – 400m, two bronze – 200m, 4x100m) and United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCA) All-America Accolades in the 4x400m (first team), 400mH (second team) and 4x100m (second team). Additionally, she helped set the school record as a member of the women's 4x100m relay while registering eight top-five program marks during the year across individual and relay events.

Taylor's sensational outdoor season featured school records in the 200m,400m and as a part of both the 4x100m and 4x400m relays. Overall, the rookie totaled eight top-five program marks across individual and relay events. The Toledo, Ohio product posted medals in the 400m (silver), 4x100m (bronze) and 4x400m (bronze) at the ACC Outdoor Championships. Taylor finished off the year with solid performances at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships en route to garnering USTFCCCA All-America First Team honors in the 400m and second-team recognition as a member of the 4x400m relay.

Wilbourn, who was also recently tapped the USTFCCCA Southeast Region Men's Outdoor Coach of the Year, led the Blue Devil men to one of their most successful seasons in recent memory with seven new school records. Duke captured individual titles in the pole vault and hammer throw and 11 All-ACC honors en route to earning the program's first ACC Outdoor Championship.

Additionally, under Wilbourn's direction the Blue Devils qualified a program-record 17 athletes to the NCAA Outdoor Championships across 10 events, with eight of those qualifiers coming on the men's side. Duke produced seven USTFCCCA All-Americans, garnering three first-team accolades (400m, hammer throw and pole vault) and four nods to the second team (4x400m).
