Isaiah Bishop joined the Duke Athletics staff in February 2024 and serves as an Associate Director of Sports Performance working with the football program.
In this role, he oversees the development of football's January freshmen arrivals, working with the weight room staff on program design and implementing year-round training. Bishop also directs the Duke accountability system, which awards points for on- and off-field performance. In addition, he generates reports for a velocity-based tracking system and a hamstring assessment. He coordinates the off-season training for multiple current and prospective NFL players who return to Duke’s facility. Â
During his first two seasons with Duke, the Blue Devils captured 16 wins, including the 2025 Tony the Tiger Sun Bowl and the 2025 ACC Championship Game. Â

Prior to joining the Blue Devils, Bishop served as an assistant strength and conditioning coach with the Western Michigan football program during the 2023 season, overseeing the design and implementation of both the summer and in-season developmental programs. As an internship coordinator, he created a curriculum and a mentoring program.
Before arriving in Kalamazoo, Bishop was a graduate assistant strength and conditioning coach for the Akron football program in 2022. Additionally, Bishop has interned at the University of Iowa, the University of Kansas and DePaul University.

A Chicago native, Bishop graduated from Northern Illinois University in 2019 with a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology. He earned his master’s degree in sport science & coaching from Akron University in 2023. He is a registered strength and conditioning coach, certified by the National Strength & Conditioning Association and a USA Weightlifting Level 2 coach. He is also CPR/AED certified through the American Red Cross. Â

Bishop and his fiancée, Nikki, will be married in May 2026.
