Upcoming Event: Men's Soccer versus California on November 5, 2025 at 7 p.m.


Al Pastore begins his fifth season as an assistant coach with the Duke soccer program. Pastore has repeatedly been recognized as one of the most accomplished soccer coaches in the country at any level.
Last year Pastore received the NSCAA’s Youth Long-Time Service Award and in 2003 he was inducted into the New York State Soccer Hall of Fame for his 20-plus years of coaching accomplishments. Pastore has been recognized as National Youth Soccer Coach of the Year, Regional Coach of the Year and State Coach of the Year on numerous occasions. In 2001, the prestigious Tampa Bay Sun Bowl youth soccer tournament named the Under-14 age group the AL PASTORE U-14 CHAMPIONSHIP CUP. Additionally, Pastore has been awarded Coach of the Year proclamations from the US Senate and a New York State Legislative Proclamation.
Coach Pastore holds administrative positions as Director of the adidas Elite Soccer Program (ESP) for the top 36 high school players in the country. He also serves as the Chairman of the Triangle Futbol Club in the Raleigh-Durham Area and as the head Regional scout for the USL’s Super Y-League Olympic Development Program.
Coach Pastore earned a Bachelor of Art’s degree in English from SUNY Oneonta in 1969. He also received two Masters of Science degrees-an M.S. in Health Education from Russell Sage College in 1975 and an M.S. degree from SUNY Oneonta in Counseling in 1973.
