Godwin Dooley joined Duke Athletics in August 2023 and currently serves as the Assistant Director for Employee Engagement and Experience. In her current role, she manages the onboarding process for coaches and athletics staff, oversees New Devils: New Employee Workshops, and organizes staff engagement and professional development initiatives. Additionally she serves as a member of Duke Athletics DEIB Advisory Group, to plan and create programming for student-athletes and staff for a more inclusive and equitable athletic department.Â
Previously in her role as Athletics Administrative Assistant, as a McLendon Fellow, she supported the Senior Associate Director of Athletics for People, Culture & Community and assisted with special projects for the Duke Athletics executive staff. Her fellowship included rotational experiences across various departments including External Affairs, the Iron Dukes, Duke Future Initiatives and Athletics Facility and Game Operations.
Prior to joining Duke, Dooley contributed to the NCAA as a women's basketball postgraduate intern. In this capacity, she assisted the women's basketball staff and the NCAA Division I Women's Basketball Committee in executing the 2023 NCAA Division I Women's Basketball Championship.
Godwin holds two master's degrees, one in Business Administration and the other in Sport Administration from Ohio University. She also earned her bachelor's degree in Sport Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
