Mackenzie Draine joined Duke Athletics in September of 2021 and currently serves as an Administrative Coordinator for the Iron Dukes Varsity Club. In her role, she oversees donor activities, annual events such as the Duke Athletics Scholarship Celebration, Student-athlete letterwinners, Varsity Club Giving Day, and representing the Athletic Department at University and community events.
Before joining Duke, Draine spent eight years coaching softball at the collegiate level. She spent two years as an assistant coach at Cleveland State University in Ohio, and two stints at Coker University serving as the Assistant Softball coach before taking the helm of the program her final year coaching. At Coker, Draine also served as an adjunct professor in the Business School and co-advisor for SAAC. She currently works with high school student-athletes and coaches serving as a Leadership Facilitator for the Janssen Sports Leadership Academy.
Draine graduated from King University in 2013 with a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies. She received her M.S. in College Sports and Athletic Administration from Coker University in 2015. She received her Doctor of Education degree specializing in Sport and Athletic Management from Northcentral University in 2019.
Draine currently resides in Durham, NC with her wife, Racheal, and their dog Harry Truman.
