Megan Goforth joined Duke Athletics as the Academic Coordinator in November 2024, where she provides academic support for the football program. Her role is pivotal in guiding student-athletes through course selection, NCAA eligibility and the integration of their curricular and co-curricular experiences, ensuring they effectively understand and navigate both institutional and NCAA policies.
Prior to joining Duke, Goforth served as an Athletics Learning Specialist at George Mason University from June 2017. There, she managed the academic success of student-athletes in Division 1 basketball and was the academic coordinator for the Cheer and Dance Programs. Her duties included administrative support, intervention strategies, and serving on committees focused on diversity, inclusion, and student welfare.
Goforth earned her Master of Arts in Education and Behavioral Science from Western Kentucky University in May 2017 and is set to complete her Ed.D. in Higher Education with a concentration in Academic Support Programs from Sam Houston State University in December 2024. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from George Mason University, completed in August 2015.
