Mitch Moser retired in 2023 following a longstanding career at Duke University, where he joined the staff in 1997. His final role was as Deputy Director of Athletics/Resource Development and Management/CFO, a position he was promoted to in November 2016.
During his tenure at Duke, Moser oversaw the department's financial operations, Resource Acquisition unit, band and cheerleading programs, as well as athletic travel, information systems and game operations. He also served as the sport supervisor for the university's men's and women's swimming and diving teams as well as the volleyball program.
Prior to joining Duke, Moser was employed at Rice University from 1992-97, where he served as the athletic ticket and business manager. He is a 1985 graduate of Concordia College in Moorhead, Minn., holding degrees in business administration and communications. At Concordia College, Moser was a three-year letterwinner in basketball and served as team captain in his senior year.
Moser earned his master's degree in Sports Administration from Ohio University in 1990. His early career included positions in the Continental Basketball Association, notably as Director of Media Relations for the Rapid City (S.D.) Thrillers and Assistant General Manager of the Bakersfield (Calif.) Jammers.
