Zac Powell joined Duke Athletics in August 2021 and serves as Associate Director of Videoboard Operations for Blue Devil Network. He manages all videoboard operations across Duke’s athletic venues, overseeing the daily production and broadcast of live sports events.
Before joining Duke, Powell served as the Director of Broadcast Media at the University of North Texas, where he managed a comprehensive range of live video productions. His responsibilities included supervising the Assistant Director and a team of students and freelancers, producing and directing video board shows for football and basketball games, and managing broadcasts on platforms like ESPN3/+ and CUSA.TV for multiple sports. He also maintained the software and hardware support for all video boards at the university.
Previously, Powell was a Media Manager at Wooden Camera, where he created marketing videos and photos for products and managed content for the company website.
His career in sports media began at the University of North Texas as an Assistant Director of Digital Media, where he produced ESPN3 broadcasts and managed video board productions for various sports.
Powell holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Radio, Television, & Film from the University of North Texas.Â
