DURHAM, N.C. - The Duke rowing team will hold its annual Row For The Cure Ergathon on Thursday, Oct. 21, on the main quad of the West Campus of Duke University to raise money for Susan G. Komen for the Cure. The event will run from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., but the entire team will gather for a team practice from 5:30-7:30.
The fundraiser is an annual event, put on by members of the Duke rowing program, that collects donations from Duke students and members of the Durham community. The team also solicits online pledges from family and friends. Over the past three years, the fundraiser has brought in over $28,000 for the cause. Each member of the team has committed to raising at least $250, and the team is hoping to raise $10,000 this year.
Duke will also compete at the Head of the Hooch (www.headofthehooch.org), which is a Row For The Cure sponsored event on Nov. 6-7 in Chattanooga, Tenn.
