Blue Devils Post Strong Showing at High Point Rowing Festival

HIGH POINT, N.C. – Duke rowing kicked off the fall slate on Sunday at the High Point Rowing Festival, hosted by Triad United Rowing Association, on Oak Hollow Lake in High Point, N.C.
The Blue Devils went head-to-head with crews from Edinburgh University, University of Oxford and High Point to compete for the Lenny Peters Cup.

The team travels to Cambridge, Mass., to race against crews from around the world in the prestigious Head of the Charles Regatta Oct. 17-19.

The Blue Devils went head-to-head with crews from Edinburgh University, University of Oxford and High Point to compete for the Lenny Peters Cup.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- In their first race of the morning, the Blue Devils battled Oxford and claimed all three spots on the podium with first, second, third and fifth place finishes.
- Duke's Varsity Eight A boat posted the winning-time of 15:505 while the B and C boats followed with times of 16:042 and 16:223, respectively. The Blue Devils' D boat clocked a time of 17:081 to round out the morning racing.
- In the afternoon session, the Blue Devils' A boat lineup of coxswain Mia Khamish, Cecily Shaber, Erin Temple, Lena Mills, Zara Taylor, Isabella Moreno, Francesca Morland, Addison Roles and Sophia Greco secured their second win of the day, crossing the finish line in 10:594 to edge past a strong Edinburgh crew.
- The B and C boats were also competitive in the afternoon races, finishing in 11:238 and 11:404 to take home third and fourth place, respectively.
- In the 300-meter Dash for the Lenny Peters Cup, Duke claimed second and third overall, finishing right behind the first-place boat from Edinburgh.
