WILMINGTON, N.C. – After leading the first two days of action at The Landfall Tradition, the third-ranked Duke women's golf team had an off day on Sunday as the Blue Devils carded a season-worst 18-hole score of 316 to fall to fourth at the 6,325-yard, par 72 Pete Dye Course at the Country Club of Landfall in Wilmington, N.C.
Blue Devil sophomore
Lindy Duncan led Duke with a tied for third place finish in the individual action as she concluded the weekend with a 54-hole total of 216. After posting rounds of 74 and 66 in the two previous days, Duncan only managed one birdie on Sunday in the final round as she hit nine greens, 11 fairways and had 28 putts on her way to posting a 76. Duncan, who is out of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., now owns three top 10 finishes on the season.
Duke entered the final day of the tournament in first place with a five-stroke lead, but fell to fourth after Sunday's performance. Taking the tournament crown was UCLA with a three-day total of 880, while North Carolina (885), Texas (890), Duke (891) and Virginia (892) rounded out the top five.
"The Blue Devils just had a bad day," said Duke Head Coach
Dan Brooks. "I think coincidence had as much to do with it as anything. We just had our bad days all on the same day. I don't think you want to underestimate the possibility that can happen."

Kim Donovan turned in an 80 in Sunday's final round as she hit 10 greens, nine fairways and had 34 putts. She closed the tournament with a 228, which was tied for 33rd. Sophomore
