DURHAM, N.C. - Duke stands in eighth place in the final winter Learfield Sports Directors' Cup Standings, released Thursday by the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics. The Directors' Cup rankings measure an athletic program's comprehensive sports success by totaling points based on a team's finish in national competition.
After the previous ranking released two weeks ago, Duke's point total of 639.5 remained the same. Overall, Duke ranks second among private institutions (Stanford is first). Three Atlantic Coast Conference schools are ranked in the top 10 – North Carolina (4th, 769.5 points), Florida State (7th, 670.5) and Duke (8th, 639.5).
