Rowing Tops Notre Dame in 2V4 at Cardinal Invite

OAK RIDGE, Tenn. – The Duke rowing team defeated two boats from Notre Dame in the second varsity four on the final day of competition at the Cardinal Invitational on Lake Melton.
Duke's 2V4 crew of Karla Beltran, Caroline Murphy, Tani O'Neill, Mary Wilson and Lauren Musso topped the Fighting Irish's A and B entries with a time of 7:39.10. That was just under four seconds faster than Notre Dame's top boat (7:42.94) and more than 10 seconds faster than the Fighting Irish's B entry.
Duke also raced Notre Dame in the varsity eight, second varsity eight, varsity four and third varsity eight, falling to Notre Dame in those four races.
Up next for Duke is a meeting with Clemson, Indiana and Purdue on Saturday, March 22, on Lake Hartwell in Clemson, S.C.
