DURHAM, N.C. -- Duke Athletics currently ranks 10th in the latest Learfield Sports Directors' Cup Standings, released Thursday by the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics.
Duke has secured 631.50 total points and is among five ACC schools ranked in the top 15, joining Notre Dame (6th), North Carolina (8th), Florida State (11th) and Virginia (15th). Stanford leads the overall rankings with 1151.00 total points.
On the year, the Blue Devils have earned points in men's basketball (25), women's basketball (50), women's cross country (28), fencing (60), field hockey (90), football (52), women's soccer (73), men's swimming and diving (53), women's swimming and diving (22), men's indoor track and field (53.5), women's indoor track and field (30.5), volleyball (50) and wrestling (44.5).
The first Division I spring standings will be released May 29.
The Learfield Sports Directors' Cup was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and USA Today. Points are awarded based on each institution's national finish in up to 20 sports -- 10 women's and 10 men's.
