Rowing Opens Regular Season at Clemson

DURHAM, N.C. – The Duke rowing team opens the 2015 season this Saturday on Lake Hartwell in Clemson, S.C. Earlier this week, the Blue Devils received votes in the preseason Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association [CRCA]/USRowing Coaches Poll, presented by Pocock Racing Shells.

This Saturday's event will pit Duke against Boston and the host Tigers. Racing action will begin at 8 a.m. ET.

Last weekend, the Blue Devils traveled to Oak Ridge, Tenn., for an exhibition against Tennessee. The squad took part in four 1,500-meter races. Duke's V8 captured all four races while its V4 crew also won all four segments.

A year ago, the Blue Devils were ranked in the CRCA/USRowing Top 20. It was Duke's ninth overall appearance in the poll and third in the last two seasons. The Blue Devils ended the year receiving votes in the CRCA/USRowing Top 20 poll.

After this weekend's event, Duke returns to the water March 28 at the San Diego Crew Classic in San Diego, Calif.
