DURHAM, N.C. – With her team scheduled to report back to campus in less than a month, rowing head coach Megan Cooke Carcagno announced the 2016-17 schedule for her squad on Tuesday. The fall slate includes four days of action while the spring consists of four regular season events.
The Blue Devils open their fall season with Alumni Day at Lake Michie on October 1. On October 8, Duke returns to Lake Michie to scrimmage North Carolina. Three weeks later, on October 30, the team travels to the Princeton Chase in Princeton, N.J. The Blue Devils finish the fall campaign on November 13 with the Rivanna Romp in Charlottesville, Va.
Kicking off the spring action will be the Carolina Cup Scrimmage in Clemson, S.C., on March 18. The Blue Devils finished second at the Carolina Cup in 2016.
Duke will travel to Austin, Texas, for the Longhorn Invite on March 25 to kick off the regular season.
The Blue Devils take two weeks off and return to action April 15 at Ohio State for duals against the host Buckeyes, Michigan and Louisville. The following weekend, April 22-23, Duke travels back to Clemson for the Clemson Invite.
Duke ends the regular season April 29 at the Dale England Cup in Bloomington, Ind., against Indiana, Notre Dame and Navy. In 2016, the Blue Devils tied for first with the Hoosiers and Fighting Irish at the Dale England Cup.
The ACC Championship is slated for May 14 in Clemson while the NCAA Championships are scheduled for May 26-28 in Mercer County, N.J.
