UCF (0-0-0) vs. Duke (0-0-0) Sunday, Aug. 21  •  12:00 PM   •  Chapel Hill, N.C.Fetzer Field  •  ACC Network ExtraACC Network Extra  l  Live Stats  l  TwitterBlue Devils Open Season in UNC Nike Classic...    The preseason second-ranked Duke women's soccer team will kick off the 2016 campaign Friday, Aug. 19 in the UNC Nike Classic, which will be played at Fetzer Field in Chapel Hill, N.C.  The Blue Devils will open play Friday, Aug. 19 against Wofford at 5 p.m., followed by a contest versus UCF Sunday, Aug. 21 at 1 p.m.  Both contests will be aired live on the ACC Network Extra.      
In the UNC Nike Classic...            Duke owns an all-time record of 26-16-1 in the UNC Nike Classic.  The Blue Devils are 8-4 over the last five years with losses to Stanford (2), Ohio State and Florida.  Duke has outscored opponents 81-45 in the UNC Nike Classic, including a 9-0 blanking of Fresno State and Weber State last season.
What is Next?...        The Blue Devils will travel to Arkansas Friday, Aug. 26 for a non-conference road contest, before returning home to host Coastal Carolina Sunday, Aug. 28 at 7 p.m., for the home opener.      
In the Rankings...        Duke is listed No. 2 in the Soccer America and No. 3 in the NSCAA preseason ledgers, while UCF was receiving votes.  North Carolina was tabbed No. 9 in the NSCAA and No. 12 in the Soccer America polls.
A Look at Wofford...    Wofford is coming off totaling a 6-8-4 record in 2015 and returns seven starters along with 29 letterwinners in 2016 under head coach Amy Kiah. The Terriers are out of Spartanburg, S.C., and are members of the Southern Conference.
The Series with Wofford...        Duke and Wofford will meet for the second time in school history.  In the only other contest, Duke downed Wofford, 2-0, on Sept. 8, 2002 in the Carolina Nike Classic in Chapel Hill, N.C.
    Head coach 
Robbie Church has only faced Wofford one time in his 22 years as a women's head coach (1-0).
A Look at UCF...    UCF enters the 2016 season returning four starters and 13 letterwinners off its squad that totaled a 12-6-2 record last year under the direction of Tiffany Roberts Sahaydak.    
The Series with UCF...        Duke and UCF will take the field for the ninth time against each other.  The Blue Devils lead the series, 6-2, but UCF won the last contest, 3-2, Aug. 30, 2009 in the UNC Nike Classic.  
    The Blue Devils had won six straight meetings with UCF.

Blue Devils Cruise in Exhibition Win...    Five different Blue Devils scored as Duke cruised to a 6-0 victory over Missouri in exhibition action Aug. 11.  Hitting the back of the net was

Lexi Magliarditi.  
    Duke scored three goals over the first 16 minutes of play and then tacked on three goals in a span of 20 minutes in the second half to win big.

Quinn in Rio with Canada...    As Duke opens the regular season Friday afternoon, senior 
Rebecca Quinn and her Canada Women's National Team will take on Brazil in the bronze medal match at 12 p.m., in Olympic action.  
    Canada will be looking to claim its second straight bronze medal.  Quinn has seen action in four matches, while making two starts on defense.
Starters Returning...    The Blue Devils return 10 starters off its NCAA runner-up squad losing only senior midfielder 
Kara Wilson, who is currently playing professionally in Japan.

High Firepower Returns...        Duke features one of its most experienced and deepest squads in 2016.  Its top seven scorers along with 89.1 percent of scoring returns for the Blue Devils.

Kayla McCoy (8 goals, 2 assists), 
Ashton Miller (5 goals, 5 assists), 
Imani Dorsey (5 goals, 3 assists),

TopDrawerSoccer Honors for Duke Trio...    Three Blue Devils were named to the TopDrawerSoccer Best XI teams that were released Aug. 16.  
Christina Gibbons earned first team honors, while 
Rebecca Quinn was named to the third team and 
Ella Stevens received freshman team accolades. 
Trio Named All-ACC; Duke Tabbed No. 3 in League...    Following a vote of the 14 league head coaches, the ACC released the 11-member preseason All-ACC team along with the preseason ACC Coaches poll.  Duke seniors

Rebecca Quinn were selected to the preseason team, while the Blue Devils were picked to finish third in the poll.
    Along with the Duke trio, McKenzie Meehan (Boston College), Kailen Sheridan (Clemson), Megan Connolly (Florida State), Kristen Crowley (Florida State)Kristen McNabb (Virginia), Alexis Shaffer (Virginia), Murielle Tiernan (Virginia Tech) and Sarah Teegarden (Wake Forest) were voted to the 11-member All-ACC squad.  
    Duke led all teams with three selections with State and Virginia earning team each.  
    As a team, the Blue Devils received two first place votes and were selected No. 3 overall behind Florida State and Virginia.  The Seminoles earned nine first place votes and 191 points to be selected No. 1.  North Carolina, Clemson, Notre Dame, Virginia Tech, Boston College, Boston College, Wake Forest and Louisville rounded out the top 10 teams.  Pittsburgh, Syracuse, NC State and Miami closed the top 14.  
    With Duke being selected No. 3 in the preseason ledger; it is the second-highest preseason ranking since 2012 when the Blue Devils were tabbed No. 1 by the head coaches. 
Top Recruiting Classic Arrives...    The Blue Devils will welcome the No. 4 overall recruiting class in the nation in 2016 --
