Club 4+ Boat Named Duke Student-Athletes of the Week

DURHAM, N.C. - The Duke rowing club 4+ boat was named the Duke Student-Athletes of the Week, after turning in an impressive first place finish in the women's club 4+ to open the 2019 season at the 55^th Head of the Charles Saturday in Boston, Mass.

The Blue Devils went head to head against 56 teams on the Charles River in the women's club 4+ race, clocking a first place time of 18:37.474, just under nine seconds faster than second place Tennessee. Five freshmen competed for Duke in their first collegiate race, including Ginger Del Real, Alice Elworthy, Emilie Lijesen, Lauren Sizemore and Caeley Tierney.

The Blue Devils are back on the water Sunday, Nov. 17 at the Rivanna Romp in Charlottesville, Va.
