AUSTIN, Texas – Sophomore Erin Marsh opened competition Friday in the heptathlon at the Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin, Texas.
After four scored events, Marsh is in 13th with 3,430 points and is 73 points from eighth place, the final scoring position in the heptathlon, heading into the last three events.
The Buford, Ga., native got started on a high note with her school-record performance in the 100m hurdles. Marsh clocked in at 13.37 to take fourth overall before clearing 1.63m in the high jump to place 20th. In the shot put competition, Marsh finished 18th with a mark of 11.39m before bouncing back with a fifth-place finish in the 200m in a personal-best time of 24.12 in lane two.
Duke will close out the 2019 NCAA Outdoor Championships Saturday beginning at 2:30 p.m. (ET), with the final three events of the heptathlon. Senior Domonique Panton will also compete in the triple jump at 6:40 p.m. (ET).
