AUSTIN, Texas – Sophomore Erin Marsh collected second team All-America honors in the heptathlon Saturday at the final day of the 2019 NCAA Outdoor Championships at Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin, Texas.
After a solid first day in the heptathlon on Friday, Marsh battled through the Texas heat and finished 10th overall with 5,707 points.
Much like yesterday, the Buford, Ga., native kicked off Saturday's events on a high note with her performance in the long jump. Marsh placed seventh overall with a distance of 6.00m, the third-best mark in Duke outdoor history. In the javelin, March finished in 10th with a toss of 38.26m before closing the heptathlon in 20th in a time of 2:22.26 in the 800m. Heading into the final event, Marsh was in ninth place.
In field events, senior Domonique Panton closed out her Duke career Saturday in the triple jump. Panton finished in 22nd with a mark of 12.76m. Panton leaves her impression on the Duke record books as the school-record holder in the event.
