DURHAM, N.C.— For the second straight weekend,
Megan Furtney and
Erica Shepherd of the Duke women's golf program will compete in a Golfweek Collegiate Series event as the Blue Devil sophomores will see action at the Golfweek Purdue Women's Amateur Oct. 10-11.
The Duke duo will play 36 holes on Saturday, Oct. 10 followed by 18 holes on Oct. 11 at the Ackerman-Allen Golf Course in West Lafayette, Ind.
Shepherd, who hails from Greenwood, Ind., is coming off winning the title last weekend at the Golfweek Hoosier Amateur by seven strokes at The Pfau Course at Indiana University in Bloomington, Ind., after shooting 75, 71 and 69 for a two-over-par, 215. In two Golfweek Collegiate Series events, Shepherd has finished third and first.
A product of St. Charles, Ill., Furtney will also see action in in third series event and owns finishes of seventh and tied for fifth in those tournaments.
Furtney will get things started at 8:09 a.m., followed by Shepherd at 8:18 a.m., off hole No. 1 Saturday.
