CARY, N.C. – Following the conclusion of the ACC Championship Sunday, Duke University sophomore midfielder
Sophie Jones was named to the ACC Women's Soccer 11-member All-Tournament team.
Jones, who hails from Menlo Park, Calif., started both contests for the Blue Devils in the ACC Tournament. In Duke's 1-0 victory over fifth-ranked Clemson, Jones saw action in 82 minutes and attempted one shot. The Blue Devils fell to eventual ACC Champion Florida State in the semifinals as Jones saw action in 62 minutes in the midfield. On the season, Jones was an All-ACC First Team honoree. She started all 13 contests and played 971 minutes for the Blue Devils totaling two assists. In just her second year at Duke, she has established herself as one of the top midfielders nationally.
Duke concluded the fall season with a 7-4-2 overall record with all four losses coming to the top two teams nationally – North Carolina and Florida State.
