DYSON WILLIAMS JOINS ELITE COMPANY

John Fay holds the single-game record with nine in 1996.
- Williams and Greer hail from the same hometown of Whitby, Ontario. Greer and Williams' father, Shawn Williams, played together on Team Canada and for Edmonton Rush in the NLL.
LACROSSE FOR LIFE
- Duke is one of a host of college lacrosse teams participating in the Lacrosse for Life efforts to raise money to benefit Boston Children's Hospital. A large selection of Blue Devils shaved their heads after Lacrosse for Life announced it had secured a $1,000 donation for every player who shaved his head. The donations will be sent directly to Boston Children's Hospital.
- Lacrosse for Life wants to grow the initiative to be a nationwide competition for a cause. In the future the organization would love teams and alumni to work on raising money and securing donations both from Lacrosse for Life and through connections with teams to donate to a hospital of their choice.
DUKE'S DEPTH AND BALANCE PROVING TO BE DANGEROUS
- In Duke's three victories, the Blue Devils' balance on offense has proven to be lethal. Duke had at least seven different goal scorers in all three, including 11 versus High Point. Four games into the season, 15 Blue Devils have at least one goal, with seven of them being first-time goal scorers.
- Duke has had three different leading scorers in the five outings – Owen Caputo (Denver, Penn), Dyson Williams (High Point, Richmond) and Joey Manown (Air Force).
- The Blue Devils have run three midfield lines each game this season, garnering success from each one. The balance is incredible: First – 9 points, Second – 40 points, Third – 12 points.
LOOKING AT DUKE
- Duke moved above .500 again with an exhilarating 16-15 overtime win over Richmond Friday night. The win caps a 3-2 February in which Duke went 2-1 against top 20 teams.
- The Blue Devils' balanced offense is led by sophomore Owen Caputo and Dyson Williams' 19 points. Midfielder Cameron Badour has 15 points, eight more than he had all of last season, while Joey Manown has 12 points. Seventeen Duke players have at least one goal.
- A young defensive corps on defense continues to grow and gel. JT Giles-Harris is the anchor on defense, drawing the toughest matchup. He has 15 ground balls and 10 caused turnovers. Rookie Kenny Brower is the first true freshman to start on close defense since Giles-Harris. Sophomore Frank Marinello has started the past two games to round out the trio on the crease.
- A host of short stick defensive middies and long poles bolster the improving defense. Terry Lindsay is a four-year starter, while Blake Leischow is back for his second season as regular in the SSDM role. Matt Chmil and Jake Caputo are the newcomers to the role, while Braden Burke and Tyler Carpenter continue to shine in the LSM role.
- Jordan Ginder and Joe Stein are solid at the faceoff X. They are winning 57 percent of the draws and have picked up 44 ground balls on 83 wins.
- Turner Uppgren has started all five contests and owns a 14.01 goals against average and a .392 save percentage. Andrew Bonafede came off the bench in three games and has 15 saves and a 10.60 goals against average and a .441 save percentage.
SCOUTING FURMAN
- Furman comes to Durham with a 1-3 overall record and allowing 14 goals per game overall and 17.33 in the three setbacks. The Paladins' win came against Hampton in Greenville.
