GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Duke diving team was stellar on Thursday to highlight the swimming and diving program during day one of the Wolfpack Invitational at the Greensboro Aquatic Center in Greensboro, N.C.

In the two diving events of the day, Duke saw five women place in the top six on the one-meter boards and four men place in the top five on the three-meter boards. Freshman
Margo O'Meara placed first in the event with a score of 306.00. Junior
Maddi Pullinger placed second (294.45) while junior
Ali Watson (271.35, senior
Maddy Pfaff (270.20) and junior
Kate Mullin (269.90) finished fourth, fifth and sixth, respectively.

On the men's side, junior
Jonah Cagley led the way, scoring 349.65 to place first. He was followed by sophomore
Seamus Harding Jr. (third, 346.30), senior
Harel Anolick (fourth, 342.55) and freshman
Will McCollum (fifth, 340.55).

In the pool, Duke saw 35 individual swimming during the finals on Thursday evening, including three 'A' Final appearances and five 'B' Final appearances.

Sophomores
Sarah Foley and
Catherine Belyakov led the Blue Devils in the 200 individual medley as they both reached the top final. Foley recorded a mark of 1:58.01, the second-fastest time in program history, to place fourth in the event. She was followed by Belyakov in sixth with a time of 1:58.76. Senior
Zoe Lusk represented Duke in the consolation final, placing 16th (2:01.83).

Cole Reznick represented the Duke men in the 200 individual medley, placing eighth (1:45.75) in the event after reaching the 'A' Final in the morning preliminaries. Classmate
David Hallaron was the top Blue Devil finisher in the 500 freestyle as he finished 15th in the event with a time of 4:25.48.

In the women's 500 freestyle, freshmen
Yixuan Chang and
Catherine Purnell competed in the 'B' Final. Chang placed ninth overall in the event but recorded the sixth-fastest time (4:43.79) in the evening session. Purnell clocked 4:46.55 to touch 11th.

Rookie
KyAnh Truong represented Duke in the 50 freestyle consolation final. Truong placed 16th in the event after reaching the final by swimming a career-best 23.00 in the morning preliminaries.

In relays, Duke's quartet of junior
Emma Shuppert, Foley, Chang and freshman
McKenna Smith placed sixth in the 400 medley relay with a time of 3:36.63. Both of Duke's men's and women's 200 freestyle relay teams finished eighth in the event as Smith, Truong, sophomore
Sarah Snyder and Chang touched in 1:31.68 while junior
Charlie Gingrich, junior
Brad Sanford, junior
Coleman Kredich and senior
Matthew Whelan clocked 1:19.58.

The action continues tomorrow at the Greensboro Aquatic Center as the Blue Devils compete in the 200 medley relay, 400 individual medley, 100 butterfly, 200 freestyle, 100 breaststroke, 100 backstroke, 800 freestyle relay, women's one-meter diving and men's three-meter diving.
