DURHAM, N.C. – The No. 9 Duke rowing team picked up its first weekly honor of the season as the Second Varsity Eight (2V8) boat was named the ACC Crew of the Week on Wednesday.

Emilie Lijesen (bow) finished first with a time of 6:28.3. The mark was over 20 seconds faster than second-place Clemson (6:48.5), and served as one of Duke's five first-place results that earned the Blue Devils their fifth consecutive team victory at the Carolina Cup.
The honor marks Duke's first ACC Crew of the Week recognition since April of 2019, when the Varsity Four boat outraced two nationally-ranked opponents at the Big Ten/ACC Dual.
The Blue Devils next compete at the Virginia Invite in Charlottesville, Va., from Friday, March 26 to Saturday, March 27.
