DURHAM – TopDrawerSoccer released its top-100 individual midseason rankings with the Duke women's soccer team featuring six Blue Devils on the list.
In the Women's National Top-100 rankings, featuring the highest ranked sophomore, junior and seniors college soccer players in the nation, Duke had four student-athletes on the ledger –
Sophie Jones (2),
Michelle Cooper (7),
Ruthie Jones (28) and
Delaney Graham (76). Â
Duke featured the top-two ACC players in
Sophie Jones and Cooper. Â
One of the most dynamic players in the nation, Jones has started all 14 matches on the season for Duke. She owns two goals and three assists, while registering the game-winning goal in the season-opener at East Carolina. Jones, who is from Menlo Park, Calif., has started 66 straight matches for the Blue Devils. Â
Cooper has been one of the top playmakers in NCAA Division I soccer since making her collegiate debut a year ago. In 2022, she leads Duke with nine goals, seven assists and 25 points. Cooper, a product of Clarkston, Mich., currently ranks No. 10 nationally with a 1.92 points per game average. She owns 54 points through her sophomore season, which is a new Duke school record. Â
A three-year starter in goal for the Blue Devils,
Ruthie Jones has totaled a 1.19 goals-against average on the season in 14 starts. She owns three shutouts and helped Duke collect a total of six shutouts on the year. A product of Charlotte, N.C., Jones owns 22 career shutouts and a record of 37-13-5 with the Blue Devils. Â
Graham, a native of Atlanta, Ga., is a five-year starter for the Blue Devils on defense helping Duke to 46 shutouts over her career. She has started a Duke-record 94 matches, including all 14 this season. Graham has collected three assists, while helping the Blue Devils to six shutouts in 2022. Â
In the freshmen rankings,
Kat Rader was No. 2 and
Devin Lynch was No. 78. Rader was the top ACC student-athlete listed. Â
Rader, who hails from Stuart, Fla., has started 11-of-14 matches for the Blue Devils at the forward slot. She owns seven goals and two assists for 16 points, while leading Duke with three game-winning goals. Rader collected her first collegiate brace against Wake Forest as the Blue Devils registered a 2-1 victory over the Demon Deacons. Her seven goals ranks second in the ACC among freshmen and is tied for sixth nationally among freshmen.
A native of Naperville, Ill., Lynch has played in 12 matches, while making four starts. She has notched one assist playing in the midfield for the Blue Devils. Â
Duke will next travel to Clemson, S.C., to face Clemson on Thursday, Oct. 20 at 7 p.m., live on ACC Network Extra. Â
