DURHAM – The sixth-ranked Duke men's fencing team posted an undefeated showing Saturday on the first day of the annual Duke Meet.
The Blue Devil men posted a flawless 5-0 overall record, which was highlighted by a dominant 18-9 win over third-ranked Penn State.
In addition to the Nittany Lions, Duke secured victories over Air Force (18-9), Boston College (19-8), Brandeis (17-10) and Johns Hopkins (22-5) in front of its home crowd in Card Gym.
Both the saber and epee squads went 5-0, while the foil team posted a 4-1 record on the day.
Epeeist Bowen Wang led the entire squad with 10 victories, followed closely behind by junior Finn Hossfeld with an impressive 9-2 showing.
Terence Lee (saber), Stephen Kim (saber) and Sam Gruber (foil) all recorded eight wins while freshman Ethan Nguyen (epee) posted a flawless 7-0 ledger.

The 12th-ranked Duke women will close out the Duke Meet on Sunday beginning at 8 a.m.
