Now entering its seventh year since the inaugural tournament in 2016, the SheBelieves Cup honors the USWNT-created SheBelieves movement, an initiative to inspire women and girls in sport and beyond. Iceland is set to participate in the event for the first time.
Originally a native of Arlington, Texas, Anasi received Icelandic citizenship in 2019 and was selected to the national team in 2020. She currently plays for the Breiðablik club of the the Úrvalsdeild kvenna, the top-tier women's football league in Iceland. Anasi was a member of the U.S. National Team pool at the U-18 and U-23 levels.
During her four-year career in Durham, Anasi appeared in 97 matches – tied for the most in program history – with 83 starts. The defender was a two-time All-American and contributed to the Blue Devils recording 39 shutouts from 2010-13. As a sophomore in 2011, she was named a semifinalist for the MAC Hermann Trophy while starting all 27 matches for a Duke team that advanced to the national championship game. That fall also saw her earn ACC Defensive Player of the Year and first-team All-America honors.
