WESTLAKE, La. – Miranda Wang, a member of the Duke women's golf 2019 NCAA Championship squad, collected her first professional victory in the United States on Friday as she turned in a 7-under-par, 281, at the Coushatta Tribe of Louisiana Open on the Women's All Pro Tour in Westlake, La.
Wang, a native of Beijing, China, carded rounds of 69, 69, 72 and 71 for a 7-under score to win by one stroke over Amanda Kim (282). In the final round, Wang registered birdies on No. 2 and No. 9 to make the turn at 2-under, 34. She suffered a bogey on the 12th hole, but was even par over the final six holes to collect the victory. Wang, a 2019 Blue Devil graduate, trailed by one stroke entering the final round.
With the victory, Wang earned a check for $10,000 and received an exemption into the Epson Tour's Casino De Sol Golf Classic March 31 – April 3 in Tucson, Ariz.
