DURHAM – No. 13 Duke softball (32-5, 14-2 ACC) continues its Virginia road swing, traveling to James Madison for a Tuesday afternoon doubleheader at Veteran's Memorial Park in Harrisonburg, Va.
 
Tuesday's doubleheader against the Dukes (16-18, 5-4 CAA) is set for 2 p.m., and 4 p.m. Both games will be streamed on FloSports.
 
Last Time Out
Duke extended its win streak to nine straight games with a weekend sweep of Virginia. The Blue Devils plated 24 runs and won one run rule victory, securing their fourth ACC sweep of the season. 
Kamryn Jackson had a series to remember, going 5-for-7 with two home runs and five RBI in Charlottesville, stealing two bases to pace the offense. 
Peyton St. George and 
Jala Wright delivered quality starts in the circle, with St. George adding her ninth complete game.

Duke vs. James Madison – Duke Trails, 0-2
The Blue Devils seek their first win in the brief all-times series after last meeting the Dukes in 2019, when they dropped a doubleheader in Harrisonburg. 
Deja Davis was a key piece of the offense the entire doubleheader against James Madison, going 6-for-7, scoring three runs and driving in another. 
Caroline Jacobsen also hit a home run, but James Madison was able to get both games, including one by a 6-5 decision.
 
Scouting The Opponent
James Madison: A year after reaching the College World Series, the Dukes enter Tuesday's matchup at 16-18, most recently dropping two of three games to Hofstra. Nevertheless, the Dukes bring several top bats into the matchup, led by Hannah Shifflett. Shifflett is hitting .391 with 13 home runs and 33 RBI, while also stealing five bases. The Dukes have struggled in the circle, with a collective team ERA of 3.99, but have gotten several standout performances. Alissa Humphrey leads the staff with 10 complete games and three shutouts.

What to Watch For 
	- Jameson Kavel has been one of the top doubles' hitters in the nation with 13 on the year to rank 15th nationally. She is closing in on the program's single season record of 15, set by Raine Wilson in 2018.
- Kavel is also on a 21-game on-base streak, matching Jacobsen's 21 to open the year for the longest such streak of the season.
- Rachel Crabtree is also on a lengthy on-base streak of her own, standing at 17 straight games.
- St. George ranks ninth in the nation in wins with 16 and needs just four more to set a new single season program record.
- In addition to Kavel (doubles) and St. George (wins), the Blue Devils have several other top-25 national marks. St. George ranks 11th in saves (three) and Kavel ranks 15th in total bases (97) and slugging percentage (.890).
- Duke is swinging for the fences early this season, ranking eighth in the nation in home runs per game at 1.70 to lead the ACC. Kavel leads the team with 12 on the season.
- With 63 home runs on the season, the Blue Devils have already blown past their single season record of 47 from last season.
- The Blue Devils continue to lead the ACC in batting average (.335), slugging percentage (.624), on-base percentage (.427) and scoring (7.35 runs per game), while ranking in the top-10 nationally in all of them, plus home runs per game and ERA.
