DURHAM – Looking to build off its ACC Outdoor Championship performance, the Duke track and field program gears up to compete in the NCAA East Regional in Bloomington, Ind., hosted by Indiana University from May 25-28.
The Blue Devils qualified 30 athletes for the NCAA Regional, with 28 women and 12 men seeking advancement to the NCAA Outdoor Championships in Eugene, Ore., from June 8-11. This week's competitors are looking to join graduate student
Erin Marsh and senior
Isabel Wakefield, who already qualified in the heptathlon.

Men's Events
- Scott Campbell, Luke Jackson, Liam Kahn and Chris Shanahan open competition Thursday afternoon for the Duke men with the javelin. Based on the USTFCCCA Event Squad rankings, the quartet rank first nationally in the event.
- Kahn took the bronze medal and earned the nod to the All-ACC First Team after registering a personal-best throw of 71.33m (234 feet). His mark surpassed his previous best by a whopping 27 feet and moved him into No. 2 all-time in program lore.
- Shanahan earned second-team honors with a throw of 68.10m (223-5 feet), good for fifth among the field.
- Erick Duffy and Michael Fairbanks look to keep their steady seasons going as the graduate students will represent the Blue Devils in the pole vault.
- Duffy claimed the ACC pole vault crown with a record-setting performance, upending his previous-best mark by seven centimeters by clearing a height of 5.43m (17-9.75 feet) to become the first Duke men's outdoor pole vault champion since Clint Brown in 1967.
- Fairbanks placed fourth and leapt 5.13m (16-10 feet) to earn All-ACC second team honors.
- Nick Dahl gets things going with the 1500m race, slated for 6:30 p.m. He holds the second-fastest event time in school history and is looking to build off his bronze-medal finish at the ACC Outdoor Championships via a run of 3:43.07 against a highly competitive field.
- Miles Mingo and Donovan Spearman gear up for the 400m and 200m dash, respectively. Mingo's 46.45 second NCAA regional qualifying time ranks third all-time at Duke, while Spearman's finish of 20.77 seconds in the 200m dash is tied for the program record.
- Beck Wittstadt continues his steady freshman season in the men's 800m. He notched his qualifying time at the Duke Invite, finishing the race in a personal-best time of 1:48.89
- CJ Ambrosio closes out the Wednesday track events for the Duke men in the 10,000m, where his 28:55.77 time ranks second all-time at Duke.
- The Avon, Ohio native will also compete in the 5,000m on Friday. After clocking 13:43.17 at the Virginia Challenge to shatter the 47-year-old school record, Ambrosio bested that time at the ACC Outdoor Championships with a personal-best of 13:42.50.
- Beau Allen takes the field on Friday for the men's high jump. Allen enters off a runner-up finish at the conference meet in which he had no misses through his first five attempts and matched his personal best and No. 3 program mark with a clearance of 2.15m (7-0.50 feet).
- Michael Ungvarsky hits the track Friday for the 3000m steeplechase semifinal. Ungvarsky enters the meet following a solid performance at ACC Outdoors that saw him slice seven seconds off his previous best for a new PR of 8:46.14, which improved his No. 5 all-time Duke mark.
Women's Events:
- Dana Baker opens action for the women Thursday afternoon in the javelin. Later that evening, Marsh and graduate student Zoe Hughes will compete in long jump, while Brynn King gears up for the pole vault. Baker, King and Hughes earned All-ACC Second Team honors at the ACC Outdoor Championships in their respective events.
- King cleared a personal-best height of 4.09m (13-5 feet) to take fifth, while Baker placed sixth in the women's javelin after a throw of 48.34m (158-7 feet).
- Hughes flew out to 6.20m (20-4.25 feet), finishing in fourth for her second outdoor ACC honor.
- Marsh and freshman Chyler Turner kick things off in the 100m hurdles as they look to build off their all-conference performances at the conference meet.
- Marsh earned bronze behind a finish of 13.49 seconds, while Turner collected a nod to the second team after placing sixth in a tightly contested 100m hurdle race with a 13.56 second finish. Her time was a personal-best and improved her No. 5 all-time program mark.
- Halle Bieber gears up for the 100m and 200m dash. The junior set a new PR of 11.48 seconds in the 100m dash at ACC Outdoors and leapfrogged three spots into No. 2 all-time at Duke. She also owns the fifth-fastest 200m time in Duke history of 23.58 seconds.
- Lauren Hoffman looks to continue her stellar season in the 400m hurdles. The Haymarket, Va., native added another All-ACC First Team honor to her collection as she captured her first outdoor conference title, doing so in historic fashion. She clocked 56 flat to claim the gold medal, upending the seven-year-old facility record set by Jernail Hayes back in 2015.
- Michaela Reinhart is set to compete in the 10,000m Thursday and the 5,000m on Saturday. Reinhart's 33:22.49 time in the 10,000m ranks fourth all-time, while her 15:53.08 finish in the 5,000m is No. 2 all-time at Duke.
- The graduate student earned second team conference honors via a fourth-place finish in the women's 5,000m, running 15:54.87 amid a loaded field. She also earned silver in the 10,000m clocking 33:22.99 to finish as runner-up.
- Clara Savchik joins Reinhart in the 10,000m race. The senior qualified for the regional competition with a personal best of 34:12.60 at the Virginia Challenge.
- Joining Marsh in the high jump on Saturday is sophomore Brianna Smith. Smith placed fifth at the conference meet, clearing her first four heights on the first attempt before ending the event with a final clearance of 1.76m (5-9.25).
- Duke's 4x100m relay of Abby Geiser, Turner, Bieber and Kelcie Simmons open Saturday's slate of track events for the Blue Devils. The quartet ran the second-fastest time in program lore en route to earning the bronze medal after clocking 44.05 seconds, missing the school record by just .03 seconds.
- Emily Cole readies for the 3000m steeplechase following a career performance at the ACC Championships. The junior collected All-ACC First Team honors as she clocked a career-best 9:48.20 to finish as the runner-up, shattering Liz Wort's 15-year-old school record while shaving 27 seconds off her previous best.
- The women's 4x400m unit will be composed from a group featuring of Carly King, Jenna Crean, Megan McGinnis, Hoffman, Marsh, Bieber and Simmons.
- King, Crean, McGinnis and Hoffman formed the quartet that put on a record-setting performance at ACC Outdoors, blazing to a season-best 3:33.88 finish to smash the Morris Williams Stadium record set by Duke in 2019.
