GoDuke.com will highlight each swimming and diving signee in the class of 2022. Next up is Isabella Abrajan from Mission Viejo, Calif.
Isabella Abrajan will travel across the country to join the Blue Devils in Durham after an exciting prep career in Mission Viejo, Calif. She swam for Santa Margarita Catholic High School and Mission Viejo Nadadores under coach Mark Schubert.
Isabella is the daughter of Sylvia White.
IN THE POOL HIGHLIGHTS
- Sixth-ranked recruit out of California
- No. 83 overall recruit in the class of 2022
- Former member of the Mexican National Team
- Won gold in the 200m butterfly at the 2018 Mexico National Championship
- Named NISCA All-American in the 100 butterfly and 100 backstroke as a freshman and junior
- Tabbed the Most Valuable Freshman
- Runner up at CIF Championship in the 100 butterfly as a junior
- Tabbed Most Inspirational Athlete on the team as a junior
- Placed third in the 100 butterfly finals at the CIF Championship as a senior

- Four-time Honor Roll student
- Coached at the Mission Viejo Nadadores Swim School as a junior and senior
- Volunteered as a virtual tutor as a senior
- Twice named a NISCA Academic All-American

What is your favorite swimming memory so far? Breaking the school record in the 4x100 medley relay because it was a privilege to swim for something greater than just myself

Do you have any hidden talents? I can still do splits from when I taught myself at 6 years old via YouTube
If you had to eat one thing for the rest of your life, what would it be? Pizza
Any other fun facts? I love doing yoga and taking naps!
