DURHAM – The preseason second-ranked Duke women's soccer team will close exhibition action Friday, Aug. 12 as the Blue Devils host 12th-ranked South Carolina in an exhibition contest at Koskinen Stadium with a 6 p.m., start. Admission will be free for all fans.
The Gamecocks will visit Durham as the No. 12 ranked squad in the country under the direction of Shelley Smith, who enters her 22nd season as the head coach. South Carolina advanced to the NCAA quarterfinals a year ago and collected a 14-7-1 ledger. The Gamecocks return six starters and 22 letterwinners, while adding three graduate transfers in 2022.

Robbie Church and returns eight starters and 18 letterwinners from that squad.
Following the exhibition, the Blue Devils will open the 2022 campaign on the road at East Carolina on Thursday, Aug. 18 at 7 p.m. Duke's home opener will take place Sunday, Aug. 21 at 6 p.m., versus UNC Greensboro in Koskinen Stadium.
