DURHAM – The NR/15 Duke swimming and diving program opens the home slate of the 2023-24 season with a dual-meet against RV/NR UNCW at the Taishoff Aquatics Center. The meet is set to begin at 2 p.m., and is available on Meet Mobile.
The Blue Devils' women opened the season with a victory at No. 17 Virginia Tech last weekend. The win was the first of the
Brian Barnes era at Duke.
Fans will enter the pool through the Wilson Recreation Center and parking is available at the Science Drive Garage.
NOTEABLES
- Duke's 400-yard IM relay team consisting of Ali Pfaff, Kaelyn Gridley, Aleyna Ozkan and Sarah Foley clocked a time of 3:38.31 to begin the season strong for the Blue Devils, placing first in the event to open the scoring.
- Foley continued her dominance in the pool last Saturday, finishing second in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:49.26.
- The freshman duo of Pfaff and Molly Donlan shined in the 100-yard backstroke on Saturday, as Pfaff produced her first collegiate win in the pool, while Donlan finished second in the event. Sophomore Madeline Meredith clocked in at third for Duke to complete the sweep of the podium in Christiansburg, Va.
- Freshman Charles Berman and junior Will McCollum finished first and second in the men's 1-meter dive against Virginia Tech. The Blue Devils also swept the 3-meter diving event, as Berman, Seamus Harding Jr. and McCollum earned podium finishes.
- The Duke women closed out the meet strong with a clean sweep of the 3-meter diving event, courtesy of Ali Watson, Emily Rakestraw and Josie Zillig.
