No. 12 Women Go Undefeated, Take Down No. 1 Notre Dame

DURHAM – The No. 12 Duke women's fencing team posted an undefeated 5-0 record Sunday afternoon to close out the Duke Meet at Card Gym.

The Blue Devils featured three top-10 victories, highlighted by a win over No. 1 Notre Dame.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The women captured wins over the No. 1 Fighting Irish (16-11), No. 5 Northwestern (15-12), No. 9 Penn State (18-9), MIT (21-6) and Brandeis (24-3).
Duke was led by Kunling Tong (saber) with a 10-2 ledger as she went 3-0 against No. 1 Notre Dame and No. 9 Penn State. Co-captain Christina Ferrari (foil) added an 8-1 record by going 3-0 against the Irish and 2-0 over the Wildcats and the Nittany Lions.
The Blue Devil women have tallied seven wins over top-10 teams this season.
The women's squad is now 19-3 this season.
