DURHAM - Duke junior Christina Ferrari and senior Terence Lee were named ACC Fencers of the Week following their performances over the weekend at the Duke Meet.Â
This marks the second ACC accolade Ferrari has claimed this season.Â
Ferrari helped the 12th-ranked women to an undefeated record the featured three top-10 victories Sunday afternoon at Card Gym. The women captured wins over the No. 1 Notre Dame (16-11), No. 5 Northwestern (15-12), No. 9 Penn State (18-9), MIT (21-6) and Brandeis (24-3).Â
Ferrari helped spearhead the foil squad to a 5-0 showing with an 8-1 record by going 3-0 against the top-ranked Irish and 2-0 over the Wildcats and Nittany Lions. The women have tallied seven wins over top-10 teams this season and are now 19-3.
Lee posted a 10-3 record in men's saber on Saturday, including 3-0 marks against No. 7 Penn State and Johns Hopkins. A native of Hong Kong, Lee helped the ninth-ranked Duke men to a 3-2 record over the weekend.Â
Duke will have a week off of competition to prepare for the ACC Fencing Championship Feb. 25-26 in Chestnut Hill, Mass.
