DURHAM – As the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) gets set to open the 2023 campaign this weekend, shades of Duke blue remain heavily sprinkled in the league. A total of 10 Blue Devils cemented a roster spot across eight NWSL teams, after the final 26-player rosters were announced this week.

Michelle Cooper (Kansas City Current), Imani Dorsey (NJ/NY Gotham FC), Mia Gyau (San Diego Wave FC),
Sophie Jones (Chicago Red Stars), Lily Nabet (Angel City FC),
Mackenzie Pluck (Angel City FC), Quinn (OL Reign) and Ella Stevens (Chicago Red Stars).
With the 10 Duke women's soccer standouts on rosters, the Blue Devils rank sixth nationally among schools – Stanford and UCLA (17), Virginia (16), Florida State (13), Penn State (12), North Carolina (11), Duke (10), Santa Clara and Southern California (8).

Delaney Graham will miss this season due to recovering from post-season surgery. The Blue Devils also feature three other former standouts playing professionally overseas – Natasha Anasi (Norway), Kayla McCoy (Scotland) and Toni Payne (Spain).
The season will officially kick off on Saturday, March 25 with Cooper making her professional debut with Kansas City at the North Carolina Courage at 2 p.m., locally at WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, N.C. The match will be aired live on Paramount+.
Jones will also make her debut with the Red Stars, while Stevens enters her fourth season in Chicago as the Red Stars host Gyau and the San Diego Wave on Saturday at 10 p.m., in San Diego, Calif., on CBS Sports Network.
On Sunday, March 26, Quinn and her OL Reign squad will host Washington at 4 p.m., Cosme and Orlando will host Portland at 5 p.m., while Nabet, Pluck and Angel City will travel to face Dorsey and NJ/NY Gotham FC at 9 p.m. All of Sunday's matches will be aired live on Paramount+.
All teams will play a 22-game schedule from March through October. The league will take a break in July and August for the FIFA Women's World Cup that will be held July 20 through August 20 in Australia and New Zealand.
