Jay Beshears hit a two-run blast to left field in the top of the sixth inning, cutting the Virginia lead to three. Beshears finished the day 3-for-4 with two RBI and a run scored.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Virginia opened the scoring in the bottom of the second inning, 5-0.
- Junior Jay Beshears hit a two-run home run to left field in the top of the sixth inning, 5-2.
- The Cavaliers added to their lead in the bottom of the sixth, 9-2.
- Virginia added to the lead in the bottom of the seventh, 11-2.
- The Cavaliers added on in the bottom of the eighth, 12-2.
