DURHAM – Senior swimmer
Aleyna Ozkan broke two separate Turkish National Records this summer in both the short course 50-meter butterfly and the 100-meter butterfly.
The Istanbul, Turkey, native eclipsed her previous Turkish National record in the 50-meter butterfly, clocking in at 25.95, nearly a half second faster than her previous best of 26.42. In the 100-meter butterfly, Ozkan broke a 19-year-old Turkish National Record, swimming a time of 58.09.
Duke swimming and diving begins the 2023-24 season on Oct. 12, at the Taishoff Aquatic Center, as they host the Blue vs. White Intrasquad meet.
