DURHAM – The Duke swimming and diving program enters the championship season on Tuesday, Feb. 20 as they head to the Greensboro Aquatic Center for the 2023-24 ACC Championships.
Last season the Blue Devils' women finished in fifth place scoring 718.5 points, while the men finishing in 10th with a score of 321. The meet will be streamed on ACCNX and can also be found through live stats and divemeets.com
NOTEABLES
- To kick off the meet against Queens, the Blue Devils 200-yard Medley Relay team consisting of Emily Lenihan, Sarah Foley, Aleyna Ozkan and KyAnh Truong secured a first-place finish in the event, clocking in with a time of 1:38.45.
- On the men's side, Duke's team of Michael Jiang, Kalen Anbar, Sean Rogers and Milo Shue secured a second-place finish with a time of 1:28.98.
- In the women's 1000-yard Freestyle, Yixuan Chang and Emily Gjertsen tallied a second and third place finish respectively. Chang finished in 10:07.97, while Gjertsen clocked a time of 10:11.25.
- In the men's 1000-yard Freestyle, JC Castrillon and Austin Simpson finished one and two in the event, clocking times of 9:24.73 and 9:34.97.
- In the 200-yard Butterfly, Martina Peroni broke her own pool record, finishing three seconds faster than Texas' Campbell Stoll, touching with a time of 1:54.01.
- For the second time this season, Gridley bested a Duke program record, clocking in first-place finish with a time of 2:07.91 in the 200-yard Breaststroke.
