DURHAM, N.C. – Duke swimming and diving opens its 2025-26 slate on Friday, welcoming Marymount, East Carolina and Boston College to the Taishoff Aquatic Center. Diving begins at 4 p.m., followed by swimming at 5 p.m.Â

The Blue Devil men will compete against Marymount and Boston College, while the women will square off with East Carolina and Boston College.

NOTABLESÂ
- The Blue Devils women's team earned a top-25 finish at the NCAA Championship a season ago, while the men notched a top-10 finish at the CSCAA National Invitational.
- During the 2024-25 season, the men's team posted a 1-6 record, while the women's squad finished 3-3.
- Head coach Brian Barnes enters his third season at the helm, carrying a 2-12 mark with the men's program and an 8-6 record with the women's.
- Captain Tatum Wall returns for her senior year after setting the school record in the 100-yard freestyle (47.65) and etching her name in Duke's record book with a second-place mark in the 50 freestyle (21.79).
- Junior Ali Pfaff is coming off a breakout sophomore campaign, where she holds multiple program records: first in both the 100 (51.11) and 200 backstroke (1:51.55), eighth in the 100 freestyle (49.14) and ties for eighth in the 200 freestyle (1:47.66).Â
- Three-time All-America honoree Kaelyn Gridley returns for her senior campaign. A year ago, she collected First Team All-America honors in the 100 and 200 breaststrokes, placing eighth in the 100 (58.72) and fourth in the 200 (2:05.91) at the NCAA Championships. Gridley has now earned First Team All-America honors in all three of her previous collegiate seasons.
- Junior Jacob Hills etched his name in Duke's record book a season ago, recording a 1:43.48 time in the 200 backstroke for a second-place ranking. He also polls fourth in program history in the 100 backstroke with a time of 47.52.
- Captain Austin Simpson returns for his senior season after placing seventh in the 1,000 freestyle (9:23.90) and ninth all-time in the 500 freestyle (4:25.84) in Dukes' program records.Â
- Junior Kalen Anbar touched a time of 53.53 in the 100 breaststroke last season, ranking ninth in school history.
- Junior Jack Smith stands ninth in program records after swimming a time of 1:58.07 in the 200 breaststroke during the 2024-25 season.
- Sophomore Owen Markowitz looks to build on a strong freshman year, when he swam a 3:53.97 in the 400 individual medley for the sixth-best time in Duke history.
